The simple flavors of a pb&j in a smoothie!

This smoothie pulls in all of the simple flavors of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! I love making this for a filling breakfast smoothie or filling snack and it’s always a hit with my little one. Seriously, it only has a few ingredients and just like all of my smoothie recipes, is customizable (you can swap different milks, nut butters, etc.).

MY FAVORITE SMOOTHIE PRODUCTS

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium frozen banana

  • 1/2 cup frozen (or fresh) strawberries

  • 1 cup milk of choice (may need to add more depending on consistency - see notes)

  • 2 tbsp peanut butter

  • 1 pitted medjool date

  • Optional: sprinkle of superseed boosters


DIRECTIONS

  • Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until texture is smooth!

NOTES

  1. The banana should be frozen in this recipe to give the smoothie the best texture. The strawberries can be fresh or frozen here - both will work!

  2. The date, honey, or maple syrup will give this smoothie recipe a touch of added sweetness. Avoid honey for littles 1 and under. If adding honey or maple syrup, start with about 1/2 tbsp.

  3. I start with 1 cup of milk in this recipe and then blend and evaluate if the consistency is too thick and needs more liquid. If it does, I'll add a splash more of milk (no more than 1/4 cup) and blend more.

  4. Your milk of choice will work here (whole milk, almond milk, etc.)

  5. To thicken up this smoothie, you can add 1-2 tbsp of Greek yogurt.
