crispy air fryer cauliflower
Published: November 2023
A quick, easy, and delicious veggie side.
Crispy air fryer cauliflower is one of our easy side recipes in our veggie rotation that has completely minimal prep. My favorite thing about this recipe is that I can use a frozen bag of cauliflower, prep with olive oil and seasoning, and just toss right in the air fryer. I’m all about recipes that require very minimal prep and this definitely meets that criteria. This recipe can be air fried or oven-baked! See the notes section below for details.
Cauliflower is rich in fiber and packed with vitamins - a great food option for little ones (and the whole fam)! I find that it can be pretty bland but the seasonings in this recipe along with the air frying method give it some great flavor and texture and my toddler has loved it! This article from Solid Starts talks more about cauliflower for little ones including benefits and how to cut/serve - it’s a good read especially if you’re serving to littles under 1.
I really love the Our Place Wonder Oven for this recipe. They gifted this to us when it first launched and I’ve loved how easy and versatile it is for quick recipes (you can bake, roast, air fry, you name it!). It’s also nice that I don’t have to pre-heat the air fryer. Any air fryer will work for this recipe :)
INGREDIENTS
Cauliflower (fresh or frozen)
Extra virgin olive oil
Garlic powder
Paprika
Salt and black pepper
DIRECTIONS
Preheat air fryer to 390F
Toss cauliflower with olive oil and seasonings in a bowl, coating the pieces as evenly as possible
Place cauliflower on air fryer basket and air fry for 12-15 minutes, tossing halfway through for an even cook
Toss with parmesan cheese after air-frying (optional) and enjoy!
NOTES
If using frozen cauliflower here, no need to thaw before air frying - you’ll follow the recipe as-is but the air frying time will be closer to 15 min (whereas non-frozen cauliflower will be around 12 min)
Cook times will vary by air fryer, so check on the cauliflower occasionally while air frying to not under/over-cook
This recipe can also be oven-baked! It’ll be similar to my oven-roasted broccoli recipe. You’ll preheat the oven to 400F and cook anywhere from 22-25 minutes, tossing halfway through. All ingredients still remain the same! Just check on them throughout baking to ensure you don’t overcook, as cook times will vary based on oven types.
