4-ingredient cinnamon apple snack dip

Last updated: October 2023

A quick homemade dip with delicious fall flavors for toddler snacks and meals.

All you need for this dip is 4 ingredients (or even just 3) and a blender! It’s super simple but bursts with great flavor and is so versatile for meals. I serve with snacks (graham crackers, pretzels) and breakfast (to dip toast sticks into or with fruit).

I like to serve this dip in the Bumkins Baby Silicone Dip Cups because it just makes it that much more fun. You can totally serve it right on the plate or bowl though! It’s essentially your yogurt with blended-in freeze-dried apples, cinnamon, a little honey, and superseed boosters (like milled chia seeds for extra nutrition)!

This recipe can also be poured into popsicle molds to make easy homemade cinnamon apple popsicles! I’m all for popsicles being a year-round thing and this recipe definitely inspires me to make them in the fall. These are the popsicle molds I like to use!

It’s a favorite quick recipe over here — hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup freeze-dried apples

  • 1/2 cup whole milk OR Greek yogurt

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • Dash of honey to sweeten (optional - avoid if serving to kids 1 and under)

  • Superseed boosters (optional - see notes)

DIRECTIONS

  • Using a high-speed blender, blend the freeze-dried apples until they have a very fine texture

  • Mix yogurt, apple crumbs, cinnamon, and honey in a bowl until combined

  • Serve with some fun snacks like graham crackers, pretzels, fruit, and even on-top of toast

THINGS TO SERVE IT WITH

  • With pretzels or other plain crackers

  • With graham crackers (I especially love the honey cinnamon sweet thins from simple mills)

  • With almost any fruit! I love serving this dip to my toddler with bananas, strawberries, apple “fries”, and raspberries.

  • On toast! I make toast strips with a peanut/almond butter and let my toddler add his own dipping amount and he just loves this for a breakfast option.

NOTES

  • Honey is not recommended for kids 1 and under - the recipe can be made without it! HERE is an article from Solid Starts on this recommendation and more on honey that I find helpful.

  • If you'd like to add some sweetness to the dip (especially if you're using Greek yogurt, which can be a bit more tart), you can mash in some ripe banana.

  • For added nutrition in this recipe, you can mix-in a pinch of superseed boosters (linked in recipe card below).
