strawberry banana smoothie

Last updated: September 2023

A simple and delicious smoothie to add to your rotation! Filling, nutritious, and a toddler favorite.

It doesn’t get simpler than a strawberry & banana smoothie recipe! I love this one because it can be as easy as 3 ingredients, or a few more to add some nutrition and variety! I make sure that the bananas I use here are very ripe before I freeze to give the smoothie some natural sweetness. Blended with milk & strawberries, this is a simple toddler favorite over here. I also love to add spinach to this smoothie for some extra nutrition! While it turns the color green, I don’t find that it has an impact on the overall taste. Like all my smoothie recipes, this mix can be poured into popsicle molds to make strawberry banana pops! Too fun and easy — hope you like this one!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 + 1/2 frozen medium ripe bananas

  • 1/2 full cup fresh or frozen strawberries

  • Optional: honey or maple syrup to sweeten

  • Optional: 1-2 TBSP Greek yogurt to thicken

  • Optional: 1/4 tsp superseed boosters (like milled chia seeds, milled flax seeds, etc.)

  • Optional: Handful of kale or spinach

DIRECTIONS

  • Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until texture is smooth!

NOTES

  • The banana should be frozen in this recipe to give the smoothie the best texture.

  • You can add a handful of ice (if blender allows) as well.

  • Your milk of choice will work here (whole milk, almond milk, etc.)

  • To thicken up smoothies, you can add Greek yogurt, almond butter, or avocado.

  • The superseed boosters from Tiny Sprouts are a perfect add-in for this recipe! Hemp seeds, flax seeds, or chia seeds add some extra nutrition and can easily be sprinkled in. Code MYTODDLERSKITCHEN gets you 10% off your purchase on their site.

  • This recipe can also be used for homemade popsicles! Just pour the batter into a popsicle mold and freeze for up to 3 months.
