fruity tropical smoothie

5 ingredients, lots of delicious flavor, and a fun way to include leafy greens in an easy smoothie recipe!

This is one of my most favorite smoothie recipes with simple ingredients and an option to include some leafy greens like spinach or kale to make it a green smoothie! Although this alters the color, I feel like the taste stays the same and my son gets excited when he gets to have a green smoothie. The fun thing about this recipe (and other smoothie recipes on my site) is that they can all be turned into popsicles! Just pour into popsicle molds and freeze for at least 6 hours.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large frozen ripe banana (ripe is key for sweetness!)

  • 1/4 cup frozen or fresh strawberry

  • 1/4 cup frozen or fresh mango

  • 1 cup milk of choice

  • Optional: handful of spinach or kale

  • Optional: sprinkle of superseed boosters

DIRECTIONS

  • Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until texture is smooth!

NOTES

  • The banana should be frozen in this recipe to give the smoothie the best texture.

  • Dates or maple syrup will give this smoothie recipe the added sweetness of a cinnamon roll. Either will work!

  • You can add a handful of ice (if your blender allows) as well.

  • Your milk of choice will work here (whole milk, almond milk, etc.)

  • To thicken up smoothies, you can add Greek yogurt, almond butter, or avocado.

  • The superseed boosters from Tiny Sprouts are a perfect add-in for this recipe! Hemp seeds, flax seeds, or chia seeds add some extra nutrition and can easily be sprinkled in. Code MYTODDLERSKITCHEN gets you 10% off your purchase on their site.

  • This recipe can also be used for homemade popsicles! Just pour the batter into a popsicle mold and freeze for up to 3 months.
