crockpot salsa chicken
Last updated: September 2023
3 simple ingredients make this a delicious crockpot staple.
Crockpot salsa chicken takes about 3-5 minutes of preparation (it’s as simple as dumping everything in the crockpot) and it’ll do the rest for you while it heats on low! This is one of those recipes I’ll make in the morning when there’s a busy day ahead. Lots of ways to serve this delicious dish and all you need is 3 ingredients!
INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED
2 chicken breasts
16 oz jar of salsa
1/2 a pack of taco/fajita seasoning
MAKING CROCKPOT SALSA CHICKEN
In a crockpot, place chicken breasts in along and top with salsa and seasoning. Ensure that the chicken is fully coated with the salsa.
Cook on low for 6 hours and shred the chicken (I use two large forks to shred) about 30 minutes before they're done.
WAYS TO SERVE
Tacos: in flour/corn tortillas or hard-shell taco shells with shredded cheese, beans, and shredded lettuce
Quesadillas: add into your tortilla of choice and include some cheese and beans, fold, and toast both sides on a pan until golden brown!
Bowls: serve over lettuce, rice, or beans for some easy chicken bowls.
NOTES
Store in air-tight container for 3-4 days in fridge.
I haven't frozen this recipe yet (because we eat it so quickly once it's in the fridge), but will add freezing instructions once we eat from freezer stash!
